Trump, Emanuel Agree On Ways to Not Solve Chicago’s Violence Problem

Analysis by Kyle A. Lohmeier

If Cleveland is the “mistake on the lake” then Chicago has become the “sore on the shore” of Lake Michigan; a deplorable shithole of gang violence run for decades by corrupt leftists who’ve done nothing but make everything worse. Well, now it looks like they might be getting some help ruining their city some more as President Elect Donald Trump has threatened to help the city fight its violent crime problem.

“Chicago murder rate is record setting – 4,331 shooting victims with 762 murders in 2016. If Mayor can’t do it he must ask for Federal help!” Trump tweeted yesterday.

For the record, the 762 homicides, most doubtlessly gang-related, weren’t a record, it was merely the highest toll in 20 years, when there was 796 in 1996. Making matters worse, former Obama advisor and current Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel agrees with Trump.

“As the president-elect knows from his conversation with the mayor, we agree the federal government has a strong role to play in public safety,” spokesman Adam Collins said in a statement, according to Daniel Trotta’s piece in Reuters.

Of course, intelligent people know the federal government’s only role in the public safety of the average American citizen is to make sure they have no public safety, which dovetails nicely with the next suggestion attributed to Collins in the piece.

“Collins said the federal government could help by passing stricter gun laws, improving cooperation between federal and local law enforcement and funding programs for at-risk youth,” reads the sentence after the quote in Trotta’s article.

Either Emanuel knows that nothing his mouthpiece just suggested will do a damn thing to help, and he’s just a cynical prick paying lip-service to public safety while collecting a paycheck for doing a lousy job; or, he’s so goddamned stupid he actually believes any of that shit will help and is therefore demonstrably too damn dumb to have ever held any important job ever.

Chicago already has the strictest gun-control laws of any municipality in the USA; these always and only aid and abet murderers and criminals, never deters them, as the blood-drenched numbers show rather clearly and obviously.

“…improving cooperation between federal and local law enforcement…” is another empty, nonsensical waste of verbiage. What can the federales do that CPD can’t? The Chicago Police Department has already taken it upon itself to operate a “black site” where due process and other human rights don’t apply, just like the federal government does; and this not surprisingly doesn’t seem to help. Do they think more cops will help, especially if they’re paid for by all taxpayers and not just Chicagoans?

“…and funding programs for at-risk youth.” Yeah, swell. Look, midnight basketball is great and all, but it doesn’t pay the bills like slinging crack does, so, it’s not a solution.

The infuriating thing to me is that this empty rhetoric gets a free pass from the mainstream media and most everyone else. I can almost hear the editor at Reuters thinking to himself as he read Trotta’s piece “Yes, of course, stricter gun laws, more cooperation with the federal government, more youth programs; why hasn’t this been tried before? This is the cure, right here.”

Of course, all those things have been tried before, over and over, and they never bring about any meaningful change. The aforementioned “remedies” seek to treat some of the symptoms of the real problem, but no one in government ever has the balls to come out and say what the actual problem is.

All three people familiar with my blog already know what that problem is: The war on drugs.

Chicago once saw guys with names ending in vowels driving around in pinstriped suits firing Thompson submachineguns at each other over bootlegging turf. Then, the federal government did the smartest thing it has literally ever done and ratified the 21st Amendment, thus ending alcohol prohibition and with it the entire business model of the bootlegging industry. Government, being government, then went full-retard again in the early 70s with Nixon declaring the “War on Drugs,” thus beginning the deterioration of the part of Chicago where mostly White Sox fans live – and most every other urban center in the country. If cocaine came in a little box, purchased from the local convenience store, there would be no incentive to sell it in crack form on street corners, and even less for people to buy it from such vendors. With no drug turf to protect, the incentive to shoot rival gang members diminishes. As an added bonus, with no corrupt drug laws to enforce, cops have less reason to go into “high-crime” i.e. “black” neighborhoods, thus reducing the incidents of contact between blacks and cops, thus giving cops less opportunity to shoot black people.

So, either we could end the drug war and thereby watch violent crime plummet, Black Lives Matter fade into irrelevance, America’s number-one status for prison population per capita evaporate, America’s civilians get shot less often, America’s cops get shot less often,vAmerica’s cops not be the biggest thieves in the country and less taxpayer money wasted on fighting the so-called “war on drugs;” or, we could not do that and just carry on watching America deteriorate into a complete shit-show because the federal government is more interested in protecting the profits of their cronies in Big Pharma and Big Booze.

You know it’ll be the latter, so, expect everything to carry on sucking; particularly if you live in Chi-Sox Town.
