Trump vs. Media Feels Fake as WWE

Analysis by Kyle A. Lohmeier

I’ve been struggling with exactly how to interpret this big, boisterous fight between the mainstream media and the Trump regime. On the one hand, the lapdog press is the government’s best friend and propaganda minister and has been for decades now. So, how completely can the MSM turn on its master? Remember, the media curled up and lay down at the feet of George W. Bush just as readily as it did for Obama – so what gives now? Could Trump’s incompetence be so great that he has managed to undo decades of collusion between the mainstream media and the federal government in just a few weeks? Or, is this the tantrum of a mainstream media that has grown so powerful that it had incorrectly assumed it was the nation’s kingmaker, and they’re now just blasting back at the inevitable fallout from having bet on the wrong candidate?

Clearly, the MSM had anointed Hillary as the next president, not just predicted her victory. We were supposed to vote for Hillary because she represents the causes we’re supposed to believe are the correct ones as told to us by the mainstream media. That’s how it’s worked for decades.

For example, in 1967 the vintage radio and 1950s police drama “Dragnet” was rebooted for a few seasons with a new focus on acid-tripping hippies, just as Nixon was getting ready to launch his 1968 presidential campaign that would eventually give us the Comprehensive Drug Abuse Prevention and Control Act of 1970 and the creation of the DEA three years later. The world gets to meet no-nonsense NYPD detective Andy Sipowicz in 1993 with “NYPD Blue’s” premiere, as cop dramas experience something of a general resurgence – and many of these “new breed” of detectives like to work on hunches and play fast and loose with the rules. A year later the Clinton regime gives a nation already conditioned to the rough-handling of drug offenders the Clinton Crime Bill. Not long after that and New Yorkers get “stop-and-frisk.” The entire debut season was already in the can and ready to make Americans comfortable with their government torturing brown people when 9/11 happened; then “24” debuted in November of 2001.

Sure, the timing of those shows and others could be merely coincidental – it could simply be the government merely reacting to the culture produced by the society it governs and culture reflecting the government we live under. In my experience, however, such serendipitous coincidences are anything but. This makes the apparent loggerheads at which the Trump regime and the MSM find themselves so puzzling. I have a handful of theories:

1: It’s all more smoke-and-mirrors pro-wrestling nonsense meant to entertain and distract us.

2: The MSM has grown in such power and influence that they’ve come to believe they are the ones who decide who the president is and, having bet on the wrong horse, have re-committed themselves to the adversarial role they abandoned decades ago.

3: This all just a big psy-op intended to convince the American public that they actually want the freedom of the press abridged; which then the Trump regime will happily do.

4: The state of American politics and governance has descended into such vapid imbecility that what we’re seeing isn’t in fact carefully scripted propaganda, but an accurate portrayal of the shit show that is the federal government of the United States at present.

As shitty as all four of the above theories are; even worse is the fact that one of them, or some combination of them, is very likely accurate.
